Yes, the LeMonds are nice bikes. I did my first century on mine and it was plenty comfortable. Speed-wise it's only limitation is me. I have run mine to with seconds of the PR times I have set with my modern CF bike. And while I know it is probably nothing other than a spot on tune, the Ultegra setup on this bike is the sweetest shifting of all my bikes. Replaced the heavy Rolf wheels on it recently with my Williams System 30s and now it's an even sweeter riding bike.
