Bikes: My daily ride is a Batavus, Marin (steel & carbon) only rode it a few times since I came back from the island. Dahon single spd. that's been all over the world with me. 1930's Hercules I'm trying to gather parts to restore it. A Royal Enfield.

I'm willing to bet they flex. I was out riding a few years ago and I see this old guy on a modone and I said "sweet ride" and he said that he got it a few months ago and loves it. he said that he was riding an old mountain bike for more than 20 years. he did not intend on getting a new bike, but he went into a LBS for some service and the guy said take it out for a spin. he was sold the minute he got on it.
I've got a Marin road bike in the garage hanging from the rafters that hasn't been ridden by me in two years. It is a pop can steel with carbon fork & carbon rear triangle. I think the steel is Columbus; a combo of Thron & Nemo??? I'd have to look for sure. My teenage son rides it when we go out; he likes it.
It is a beautiful bike and rides pretty good. However, it it is a little twitchy for my likes anymore.
My riding style has changes a lot over the last few years. Although I ride a lot; I ride slower and, can I say, more purposefully. My weight is still down there where I can get with the program but I rarely do anymore unless my son eggs me on. He's the hotdog now; I've passed the torch and the bike to him. I'll ride this old heavy steel bike with the relaxed geometry and low bottom bracket to the grave.
