I inadvertently joined the tour crossing the rfk bridge into randall's island (forgot it was happening on Sunday). The vast majority of people I ran into were smiling and friendly. I had a pleasant conversation with one or two on the bridge and on Randall's island. There were of course your weekend warriors trying to insanely pass people on the path over the bridge (I actually noticed an inverse relationship between the cost of the bike/biker gear and the courtesy and/or skill the person had). The one thing I must criticize about the event itself (and of course this is something the organizers can't really manage) is that I witnessed MANY people all over both sides of the road breaking traffic laws willy nilly and holding up vehicular traffic unnecessarily. I cringed as I thought of what this was doing for cycling advocacy. Aside from that it looked like you all were having a blast.
