I like my bike (Felt Z85) but don't love it. I think part of that is the fit isn't quite right. With a little luck (and money) I'm going to get a fit done soon and see what comes of that.
I know I didn't look at enough bikes / shops. The one thing that keeps sticking in my mind is the one shop I went to to test ride a Scott Speedster 30. But the sales-punk at the shop was so condescending and snotty to me that I left without even a test ride. That was dumb on my part but I felt that if that was the attitude he had even before selling me something, what would their attitude be after the sale?
I love my Z85 even before I got it fitted properly. I was returning to cycling when I bought it and the dude sold me a 58 when I probably should have gotten a 56 and sized up. Im in between sizes. Anyway, I got fit about a week ago and what a difference. After 100+ miles no pain in the hips or knees. Even today riding in the fog/mist getting soaked all I could do is pedal getting sucked into that mystical place where you feel like your flying
