hello!
i am almost finished building a Bianchi Campione D'italia frame for my fiance since shes been getting into cycling.
it is this exact model (not this exact bike....i found this on google)
everything on it is set, rear derailleur shifting very smoothly....but then i encountered a problem trying to install a FRONT derailleur...
i had a shimano 600 tricolor bolt on front derailleur in the parts bin. bolted it on, and when i tried to run a cable up from the bottom bracket to the cable clamp, it....how should i say....the cable clamp on the derailleur is in a position where the cable touches up against the rest of the derailleur.
basically it seems to me that this frame is made to work with a front derailleur where the cable clamp is a touch further out. maybe campy front derailleurs are a bit further out?
maybe this frame is meant to work with campy front derailleurs and not shimano?
thought i would throw this out there, maybe some of you know what im talking about. i can post pics when i get home later if that helps.
buuuuut maybe some of you out there just happen to know the make/model/and/or year front derailleur would work on this frame.....or know of some online database somewhere i could look...or maybe theres some scanned catologs of bianchi stuff from the late 80's to early 90s.....ive seen a site that had peugeot....
and lastly, does anyone know what year frame i have?
sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance for your time!
