Not usually an issue - I've had setups that touch, but not in a severe way to cause excess wear.. BUT:
Check your cable routing. It may even look correct without being run properly. If you have two "arms" on the clamp, one that goes to the "side" of the swing arm, and one that rests on "top" - the cable should run above the lower one (between the two arms). You may have it running below it.
its more than just touching, its actually bending slightly around the body of the derailleur.....
to clarify, what i guess i meant to say is this is a BRAZE ON derailleur, so there are no two arms or clamps....you know the bolt/cinch thingy that cinches down the cable? well on this setup it seems like it needs to be an 1/8th inch or so out more in order to have a clean line from the bottom bracket cable guide up to the bolt/cinch.
