So thin that it becomes smaller than the volume of my head? It is indeed magic.
Strapping your helmet to your bike when not in use is foolish if you're worried about tiny risks. It should be cared for so that you know when it has been subjected to a small impact or other weakening stress. That makes it a big, inconvenient, relatively fragile object. That makes both office cubicles and restaurants inconvenient.

Read it again. It doesn't say what you think it does. And, no, riding in traffic is generally not dangerous and a helmet is specifically not designed to save you from such an impact (wow, yet another helmet freak that thinks that helmets are useful in auto collisions).

The only published research on the topic suggests that helmeted cyclists are passed closer than non-helmeted ones. You need to read around a bit before sharing your ignorance with the world.

Those "same riders" often ride the wrong way on the wrong side of the street, on the sidewalk, and don't have the required equipment (lights, wheel reflectors and a bell - NYC mandates).
Look, just about every post on this thread by helmet-nazis has been of consistently poor quality. I don't think it's any coincidence that your own post is lazy, ignorant and lacking in humor. Must be some sort of overheating effect due to the polystyrene baking your head.
