zandoval, Congrats on your home being spared. I'm used to having problems coming in from the Gulf, but fire just seems so much worse.

Many years ago my then young son and I went to Huntsville State Park a week after they burned much of one area to stop some form of blight. We were the first two to visit since the burn and we planned on riding our enduro motorcycles. It was a very surreal event for about a square mile, no color except different shades of charcoal. Our tires were raising blue smoke from under the dirt as we idled through a week after the fire was 'out'. It was a sombering day for my son and I both.
