Once the pin is IN and kind;a in the middle u have to WIGGLE the chain in the link area, to the sides. From what i read u are moving the pin in and out to get the links lose, this does exactly the opposite, you are tightening the links instead of losing them. Wiggle the chain to the sides like trying to brake it, that wil get the whole thing in place.
