Hi

I posted this last night in the Australian Cycling Forums but since this topic has popped up Another option a couple of eBay sellers who are offering what appear manufacturer's seconds.

This is what I posted last night:

Just playing on eBay and came across a German seller, trekkingstar, selling Ortleib Bike Packer Plus saddle bags for ~$92 + postage. This is around 50% off Wiggle/PBK prices. Postage lot listed so that maybe the killer, but worth investigating for sure.

Edit: Ran Google translate over the page and found the explanation: "The pannier has a small inaccuracy of the bond, but in no way affected the function or quality of the article."
Edit (2): Also schneckenkopf selling the same pannier for $102 ex Germany. Page translates ...
Quote:
Any questions? 0911/7428080 or by mail with slight blemishes, no affect on function, so full Manufacturer's warranty (5 years parts and labor). All prices include VAT applicable to my offers general business conditions, the provider identification as well as a revocation for consumers, see my "Me" page.
schneckenkopf responded to my questions whereas the other seller has not. This seller advised that:

The Bike-Packer have only a very very small Scratch on one Reflectors on the side. Sport-Packer only one bag have a very small optical fault

you can not see it.sorry my englich is not very good.100% the bags are waterproof

Oh PBK have an AUSRIDER discount voucher (may only apply to Australians) which brings the price of their panniers down to a very good price.
