I think you made the right choice- the 7.6 seems pricey to me.

Now just a couple of things to remember- Saddle--Budget for a better one at purchase if you can as several of us here have not had much success with the stock saddles- especially if it is a Bontrager. Check you have the right size tubes for those fitted to the bike- if not buy a couple. In fact if you do not have a Wedge with tubes- levers and repair kit in it and a pump- then get them now after negotiating a discount.

The other thing to remember is that there will be adjustment required on the bike. Cables will stretch- Saddle will need tweaking and the bearings will take a bit of time to loosen off. Could take 500 miles or so but get the century ride booked for the end of October You should be ready for it then
