Not sure, really, if I like Mafacs, but this whole project was supposed to be a quick and dirty "concept test" of riding low-trail geometry, so I'm using what I have on hand. The Trek I'm using (1984 610) is very close in geometry to a Boxdog Pelican, except for the fork. So I don't need a great brake, just a functioning brake at this point. Next one will probably be cantis; I can already see how it will free up space above the wheels, for easier fender and rack fitting.
