I honestly think less weight on your body improves your overall functioning much more effectively than simply dropping dead weight off a frame. You're improving the functioning of the engine, which is the key to more speed.
You probably lost that weight by improving your physical condition. It's
those things that are doing the most for your being able to climb better.
If all you did was get liposuction (ie, remove dead weight from your body), your climbing would not have improved much.
