BMX style platforms? I will be running your "Retro" Velcro straps. The problem is I just read that the MKS are a bit "wider" than track pedals for comfort?
I'm riding a conversion so there may be an issue of pedal strike....165 cranks?
And Pedal grip/traction in the wet with Rain boots? I'm guessing a set of platforms pedals will provide all around better traction. What do you think? What do you prefer in poor weather?

In poor weather, I'd go clipless with shoe covers.

But like Scrod said, if you're going to eventually wear boots or thick shoes, platforms are the most practical.
