How do those of you who have a family and a LONG commute do it? Leaving at 6:00 a.m. to get to the office by 8:00 doesn't seem realistic. Plus, I wouldn't get home until ~8:00 at night! Are the long distance commuters all family-free?
If you're not biking to work yet, then you're not bike commuting. Yet. You're getting in some good transportation cycling, it sounds like.
Lots of good suggestions have been offered for getting where you want to be.
My round trip is only 20 miles, so I don't have anything to add. My commute doesn't take a whole lot longer than driving.
