I actually thought about taking it to Syke and letting him do it. He can fix about anything.
Definitely repainting the bike. Ironically, I had the Japanese-made "copy" of this frame in a couple of weeks ago, and stripped it to the chrome. More of it was polished, and on the repaint, I'll leave a lot more exposed... The painter has suggested I sand this one down, once the eyelets are off, and take it to a chrome shop, but the BB shell is too rough and too hard to sand.
