Some older BMX bars are 22.2mm too.
I like finding rare or older bars that I like to use.
All the bars I have are different diameters, I have a bunch of stems & a few shims to make it easier to change up bars.
I agree, they need to make handle bars more "User Friendly".
A few shops I've been in say they "new" 31.8mm is the way to go...
