First you have to find a secure place to lock your bike. Then you have to take your lock out of your backpack. Next, you've got to position your bike just so. Now, you're free to open your keyed U lock, and secure your lock, to your bike, and whatever stationery object you just found. ( 5 minutes)
All of that, as opposed to, " Hey kid, I'm going into Starbucks to get a cup a coffee, this five bucks is yours when I come out, if you watch my bike!"-
