my brother's had a really nice giant and he's used it through winters and so on, and there is almost no rust or corrosion anywhere, it's still super nice... and he barely takes care of it
If they use salt where you live, aluminum can corrode. I had some corrosion on a 6061-T6 Raleigh MTB, and that's considered one of the more corrosion resistant grades of aluminum.
