1st year master, 35 years old

So I got into cycling this year. Bought my first legitimate road bike (cannondale supersix) and a powertap.

I have not raced on the road. Just a few on the velodrome.

Peak power is 1682 watts
Peak 5 second power is 1578 watts
20 minute FTP is 305

That's all the data I have so far.

I'm 35 and 190 lbs. Should I stay on the track or could I do well in crits? Am I too old to expect that I could improve, even if I dedicate myself to training and nutrition?
