I don't think you should ever do this in a place of a ride in Malibu. I would say you should do it if you'd like to celebrate alternate use of streets and to make streets a place that everyone is welcome to enjoy. CicLAvia is in no way a replacement for the kind of riding you are doing in Malibu and never attempts to be. Also, the route goes beyond our "uglist downtown in the nation", which I actually find hard to believe.
