Remember, legally you have as much right to be in that center LTO lane as the drivers do. Ride it like you own it! As long as you have either a good gap, or (even better) an alert motorist driving behind you, you're good as gold.
Thank you! Since there is a light there and the turn is fairly slow, I should be able to take that left turning lane as you said. The hard part will be taking the outer lane and making the merge to the inner lane, but I can now visualize it better. I really appreciate your help.
