Nearly a month has gone by without much to report, except that I have been recovering as expected...until Friday night. I ate dinner and began having pain in what felt like the right side of my upper rib cage in back. Around 3am Saturday morning the pain was so severe that I could not draw a full breath, and it had moved to the rib cage on my right side, under my arm. At much prodding by my wife, I (we) went to the ER and had many tests done, and discovered that I have many pulmonary embolisms in both sides of my lungs, so into an ambulance I went and off to Akron General. I am still here (early Tuesday morning) and almost ready to leave, only waiting for my INR PT levels to get into a "therapeutic" range so I can be removed from the heparin drip. Well, this certainly is not what I was expecting after a month of recovery, but at least the PE's were caught before killing me, setbacks seem to be a part of this wonderful recovery process, however, I really don't need anymore. I will get back in the saddle again, I promise!
