-That's why its' always recommended to be highly visible and keep a proper lookout when travelling on ANY roadway, Paul.
For highway speed roads and bicycle tourists a high visibility strategy is wise. I consistently recommend a slo-mo triangle and daytime visible safety lights set to flash as methods to enhance your noticeability on the roadway. A mirror is useful to enhance your awareness of traffic as well.
Passive and active safety arrays are a reasonable way to maximize your visibility.
Planting yourself, and never wavering, in the left tire track of a road as pictured, absent a more compelling safety reason, to maximize your 'noticeability' to traffic and force full lane changes to pass?
Not reasonable, fails both the spirit and the letter of the law in most every state.
