That's how I used to feel, too. I mean, I paid for the thing, I might as well use it. Lot of good it'll do me sitting on the dresser.
It's not very uncomfortable - that's pretty minor. But I'm still a little comfier when I don't have it strapped around my chest. And I've developed a pretty good feel for what each "zone" feels like. While I can't say whether my heart is doing 156 or 159 bpm without the thing, having that much detail sort of lost its appeal. Nowadays I generally only wear it when I'll want to know what my HR is/was, like on unusual rides, when I'm more focused on training (or recovery!) and might set HR alerts on the Garmin, test riding new equipment, or something like that.
