Exactly. She stepped off the curb with just enough time for me to stop fully after skidding at least 2 feet.
In retrospect, I believe part of the problem in my scenario is she like most people, are poor judges of speed. That's giving her the benefit of the doubt.
Her attitude implied that she believed that the microsecond her toe touches road pavement that all other modes of transport must/will magically stop for her.
I hope I haven't been preachy in this thread.
I was merely sharing my own recent close call with pedestrian experience.
