I like it a lot. Because of occasional back troubles, too much reach ends up being bothersome. I've found the bends at the top of compact drops to put me out just forward enough to be very effective and comfortable and still have plenty of room for my gorilla hands. Adding hoods would put me in a position which I wouldn't be able to ride in for very long, so I'm good with my current setup.
