Ahh... that makes sense! I'd noticed that sometimes when I unfold it the brakes are "stuck on". So i've got into the habit of squeezing the levers a couple of times before I set off and that seems to release it. Sounds like a good proactive modification!
You will still need to do this due to the fold strechers on the cable ,but the brakes will function betterdue to a reduced in friction.Back more than front due to longer run.
