Steel tire levers all the way. Remember when they were called tire IRONS? I don't understand why you would want anything else. I consistently and quickly break the aluminum and plastic levers.
Tom - you won't break the Michelins above. I'm a lever breaker too, and these slip past the bead and get under it, requiring almost no force to lift. They don't depend on brute force...they slide under and peel away.
