i had a pair made up using Mavic TN 719 with 32 spoke 3X, a very strong wheel set, not yet fitted anything smaller than 32mm but i think 28's would be fine.

its the same rim extrusion as the XM 719 for the 26" which is a very well regarded rim. also they look very cool with no rim breaking area too.
