I'm hoping to restore it to it's 3-gear lustre. However, that may be more than I'm capable of. It's a hot mess. It appears that the previous owner put the rear brakes on the front tire. All of the wires are erroded and must be replaced. Restoring it to 3-gear may not be possible, and that's ok. I only need it to ride to work, about six blocks from my apartment.

Before I go any further, and to save myself from looking like a complete ass, I must ask - are you asking because I'm in a fixed-gear forum by mistake? I think I'm in the vintage forum, and just double checked that. Not only am I new to restoration, I'm new to this forum. I hope I'm not totally wasting people's time!
