Bikes: 1997 Giant MB, 2011 Felt Z85 Road Bike...and searching. Why didn't anyone tell me that when you get into biking you develop a sick need to own more & more bikes!?

i tend to ride in the 3rd cog of the freewheel - occasionally i'll shift a bit depending on the bike but i stay put alot
when i hit hills i'll hammer in the saddle sometimes while staying at a good pace but actually i really like slow standing pulls up the hills - especially when i ride solo which is 95% of the time

i feel like i can vary the workout sufficiently in the same gear for my 30m+ rides (which is as short as i go) - but i did a 90 miler this summer and never shifted from the 3rd or 4th cog of my moto

anyway - this is how i ride
i'm open to evolving my style so looking forward to ensuing discussion from the crew here regarding their styles

cool
Wow, it's funny you mentioned this because I have often wondered how other people ride. I also stay in the "BIG IN'" and don't usually ever ride in the small. -- Which can be somewhat awkward if your riding partner always rides in the small... This phenomenon has caused me a little frustration over summer on longer rides, cuz it seemed impossible to set a consistent pace. -- My riding buddy said I made her a stronger rider but I swear it has slowed me down. -- Is there any remedy for this difference in riding styles? Or, do we just have to come to terms that we might not be compatible riding partners?! I should also note, that I was doing more gym training and spin classes at the time too...so maybe my body was just more conditioned?!?...idk.
