If you rattle can paint, might I suggest the anodized-looking paint from Dupli-color. Gives a chromo-velato appearance, rated as tough as their 500 degree engine enamels.

On the chroming side, since the frame has been buffed, you may be able to get a chrome shop to dip it w/o them needing to do any labor. I remember someone posted here it cost him $50.
