I’m not going to blow any smoke up your kit. My Cervelo crushes the Vaya on the road. Ya I know, somebody will post how they stayed up with joe racer boy while they were on their Vaya. Trust me, you won't ever see a Vaya in the Tour De France.

Along the same lines, my son-in-Laws Santa Cruz full suspension Mtn Bike crushes my Vaya off road. It will out climb the Vaya on the steep loose stuff and fly by it with ease as the Vaya hammers me on rocky wash board descents.

Having said all that, My Vaya crushes my Cervelo off road and crushes the son-in-laws Santa Cruz on the road.

There ya have it. You lower your expectations both on and off road and the Vaya will reward you, not with speed, but rather with an adventure in wonderful comfort.

I love going fast on my Cervelo, but I smile a bit broader when I reach for the Vaya for a ride.
