Recently i havent been able to ride as much, maybe once a week. 2 days ago, after not riding for a week, i started feeling an excruciating pain in my left knee cap. Just under the skin where the indention is.
Has anybody ever felt this before?
Does anybody know what causes it?
I am afraid to get back on my bike and ride for fear of making it worse.
Any advise or experiances would be greatly appreciated.

You have been riding the same way for 4-5 years, and all of a sudden you get a pain when riding, and assume that it's from riding, you haven't ridden in a weak and you got the pain a couple of days ago, hint: it's probably not from riding. A couple of people suggested seeing a doctor, that's a good idea, a doctor will probably send you for an X-Ray, MRI or Ultrasound to see what's going on in there. Then you will know what's going on, and they can figure a game plan for fixing it, they can do a lot with knees these days.
