I have ridden in hurricanes and thunderstorms (although no tornadoes), and I would have to rank full blown nor'easters (blizzards) as by far the most unpleasant. Steady high winds with "knock you over" gusts, drifting snow, brutal wind-chill...there is nothing pleasant about this. Although, if you have the right gear (see second picture below), you can stay warm and dry, but it is still a long trudge home.
