do you think the fixed and adjustable are reversed - unfortunately - i havent had time to get at the BB - you might be right about the spindle

also - i just peaked at the serial stamp drive side seat cluster
we have a 7 as what appears to be the first number - cannot make out the second and most of the stamp is very faded - i would guess this is a 70s model as the component dating would also point to that

anyway - i want to ride it eventually - we'll see how it goes w the BB - very curious
