Stainless steel makes a lot of sense - I have no idea why they make them out of aluminium anyway, other than of course it is cheaper and slightly lighter.

But the Surly chainrings all seem to be single ring setups, whereas i need a middle ring in a set of 3. QBP don't seem to sell them in the UK at all..
