I would say:
Americans have poor to abysmal graphic design. We have poor to abysmal eyes to match. There are, of course, exceptions.
Just a small example, if I may: When the poster was asking about the color tires to get with his Orbea -- painted orange with yellow trim -- nearly everyone said orange. If the only choices are yellow and orange, the best choice, visually speaking, was yellow. You shouldn't match an accessory to the dominant color of the object -- it keeps anything from sticking out.
