good thing is that you are alright and didnt get hurt ....
the contact patch of a tire is surprisingly small.... meaning any kind of profil of the thread is more or less marketing hype
( over simplyfied just a little )
the compound does make a difference
usually the harder the worse it grips ... but this is also somewhat too simple of an explanation

throw in a wet leave and all the theoretical talk is out of the window anyhow ...
