Beautiful color! Maruishi, IIRC, were all made in Japan from that era. Nice bike, will build up well as a drop bar bike. A little metal polish and elbow grease, you'll have gleaming aluminum components.
I concur on the silver braid housing. Blends and matches the head tube. Otherwise go with a complimentary color to the paint and have fun. Look forward to the completed build.

BTW, you can optionally route the bar end housings under the bar tape via aero brake lever style. Less housing gets exposed. To do it this style, you will need a longer tandem shifter cable for the RD, as the regular cable is a few inches too short. Then use a standard RD cable to for the FD.
