Ease up a little on Bakersfield folks.
I have ridden there quite a bit and like gpelpel says the hills east of town are very nice. If they do go east of town towards Twin Oaks along the Caliente Creek it will be very pretty. Pretty and uphill.
I am thinking they may go up the last 30 miles or so of this ride instead of down like I did.

Uphill time trial? Interesting. Here is a quote from the race website:
