Winds here (Tucson) were 20 mph gusting to 35 during my solo ride today, but I only did 38 miles. Outbound leg was uphill into the wind; inbound leg was downhill with the wind. I was the only cyclist on the road. It would have been nice to have a stronger rider up the road to chase. Average speed? Meh. Can't make up going downhill what you lose going uphill; can't make up going downwind what you lose going upwind.
