Think about it. You are now talking about spectator sports where your avg armchair joe/jill isn't ready to plop down with their beer and nachos until later in the day. Advertisers know that. Then factor in the need for multi-timezone broadcasting. It is a far, far different commercially driven environment. Race culture is filled with people who are used to training in the predawn/dawn hours to accommodate their non-race life and obligations. Seriously man, think about it for a second and you will realize what a silly question you are posing given the majority of the cycling/running/racing community culture....
