Wet and muddy? Yeah...

Post ride report, it was my first CX race. Never seen one other than a couple youtube videos, so I was excited and nervous about today. When the Mens C group staged I got at the back so I could watch how people do the course, and after a lap or two I felt good enough to start passing people. Some of the corners got very slick with mud and my 2.1" wide mtb tires were having some grip issues in 2 spots. *Almost* ate it twice, but managed to stay upright. Had a couple of one on one battles in the race and those were a lot of fun....one of them ended up with the other guy pushing just a hair too hard after we swapped places a couple times and going down in one of those corners I mentioned before.

I'd lose a little time on the tight corners and every time I had to reclip in, but I'd gain time where it wasn't about skill and could just put the legs to work.

Can't say I've ever had my HR past 170 for 35 minutes straight before today.
