i just picked up a KHS Special 18 speed touring bike with racks and bar end shifters. The frame says champion, so that tells me it may be a bit better the tange. Still feels kind of heavy, but touring bikes I've had in the past are not that light, but built to take weight. I would say its around 27 lbs with both racks. I used to have a Panasonic touring deluxe that seems to have similar style and design with cantelever brakes. This bike needs new bar tape, tires, wheels trued and greased and some touch up on the frame. It is a 21.5 inch frame or a 54.5CM . I usually flip bikes for a profit, but this one interest me. I may take it on a trip to see how it feels. I love the ride of steel bikes vs aluminum. I'm currently riding a Cannondale 600T aluminum touring bike that may get bumped if this bike proves itself
I have found a way to install 700C wheels on this bike by moving the axel higher in the stays in front and back. Its now a keeper.
