That german guy that dropped a weight upon the CF frame, first stepped upon a CF frame and broke it. That is a type of impact-resistance test, within itself. I too like CF and feel that it has much promise. However, it does have impact problems as the people with Calfee Design, readily admit.

Honestly, it looked to me with the steel and aluminum frames, the guy put his foot on the stays and then gently, carefully relieved the pressure from his other foot - while on the carbon stays he immediately picked up his other foot and then bounced a few times for good measure. Quality balanced testing that.
But my favorite part was the cutter attached to the piece of wood. I know I'm a convert based on that - can't tell you how many times I've accidentally ridden my bike into the whirring sawblade of death but I'll rest assured now... I'm only riding steel and comfortable knowing I have a whole 20 seconds before my bike gets cut in half.
