Reminds me of a ride we had during a rally here and stopped for tea at the GoodWood race track - was a blast to enter via the same tunnel stirling moss and many others had driven (pedestrians not allowed, but tandems were ) - of course that is an old school MOTOR track which is famously banked, no idea the state of repair and we did nto even take a look, but it chimes with what you said and makes me think more randem rides should be routed and thinking "out of the norm".... so your post not really OT at all IMHO
