You can get a lowracer at a decent price if you're patient. Be prepared to spend 2000-2500. New you'd be looking at between 3-4k, I would say. My Baron was 2400 new I believe, and is just absolutely the best bike once you get it dialed in and used to it.

There are a lot of good lowracers out there, just depends on the money you're willing to spend. I'm not the most knowledgeable guy out there, but the most talked about ones seem to be the Optima Baron, the Challenge Jester, and the Velokraft VK2. I own a Baron and am extremely pleased with it.
