I never wanted my bike to look like a tourist safari adventure, but I was sent the wrong tape...and felt waste not, want not. I regretted my thrift almost immediately afterwards. The tape FINALLY became ratty enough for me to discard in good conscious (I'm waiting for that to happen with the yellow tape on my Sachs, but I don't ride it much and it'll be a while) and I'm very pleased with the less ridiculous appearance. I also took the opportunity to change the stem and bars...I had the last stem well above the limit line.
